Chris Crotteau
Sales Engineer
Chris Crotteau is a senior member of Network Hardware Resale's technical support and engineering organization. He works with account managers to provide customers with pre- and post-sale technical assistance.
Support Before and After the Sale
"Our approach is to get it right the first time," explains Crotteau. "I'm here to provide our customers with answers to their technical questions to ensure that they receive equipment that will work in their environment and meet their needs."
When customers do have questions after receiving their equipment, Chris is also available to assist in troubleshooting. He helps Network Hardware Resale customers with minor configuration questions and diagnosing software or hardware issues during and after installation.
Sometimes You Need Real-World Experience
A leading financial services company met Chris after running into trouble with the supervisor engines on their recent order of Cisco Catalyst 6500s. Since this equipment was covered under their SMARTnet warranty, they called Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC.) After hours on the phone, Cisco technical support declared the supervisor engines damaged and recommended replacement.
The customer immediately called Network Hardware Resale to arrange replacement of what they believed to be defective parts. Their account representative put their lead engineer in touch with Chris. Chris quickly diagnosed a problem with the ROM Monitor software -- software that initializes the router and then passes control to the Cisco IOS XR software during normal startup. Chris walked the customer through a simple fix, and after just 15 minutes on the phone, their 6500s were working flawlessly.
"Chris's extensive knowledge of networking equipment and real-world troubleshooting skills are invaluable to our customers," said Sam Chesluk, Network Hardware Resale account manager. "In this case, his quick diagnosis and resolution saved my customer the unnecessary frustration and delay of replacing equipment that was not actually defective."
